We are currently looking for a Chief Legal Officer for our client located in Helsinki. In this role you are responsible for leading the legal department and providing strategic legal counsel to the organization’s senior leadership. The role involves managing legal risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, overseeing contract negotiations, and managing legal disputes. The Legal Director serves as a key advisor in corporate decision-making processes and ensures that the company’s legal interests are protected.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team and other senior leaders regarding business decisions, risk management, and legal matters.
• Develop and implement the company’s legal strategy in alignment with its overall business goals.
• Ensure that legal considerations are integrated into key corporate decisions and initiatives.
• Oversee the company’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Assess and manage legal risks across the organization.
• Ensure that the organization adheres to corporate governance standards and legal requirements.
• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including commercial agreements, partnerships, employment contracts, and service agreements.
• Provide guidance on contractual obligations and ensure that the company’s interests are protected.
• Manage and oversee the company’s litigation and dispute resolution processes.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards, including shareholder agreements, board of director activities, and executive compensation.
• Advise on mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate governance matters.

Requirements:

• Suitable Legal degree from an accredited institution
• Extensive legal experience, with significant experience in corporate law, compliance, litigation in stock listed company
• Strong leadership and management abilities
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills
• In-depth knowledge of corporate law, labour law, intellectual property law, and regulatory compliance
• Experience in risk management and dispute resolution
• Ability to manage complex legal issues and think strategically
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Finnish and English language skills
